Storefront Starter

Storefront Starter is a FREE program with training, grants, & sales opportunities to help you build your business in the Greater Golden Mile.

The program includes: 

• 15 hours of virtual training on Business Planning, Market Research, Sales and Marketing, Operations, Financial Planning, & Cash Flow Forecasting, provided by the City of Toronto

• A $5000 Starter Company grant upon completion of training hours

• Access to exclusive markets and subsidized retail opportunities across the City 

• Potential media exposure and other opportunities to increase reach

• The opportunity to build relationships with the ILEO corporate partners

Eligible businesses will:

• Be registered businesses that have a track record of sales

• Be in operation between 6 months and 5 years

• Be located in the Greater Golden Mile (M1J, M1K, M1L, M3C, M4A postal codes)

• Have a commercial business bank account at the time of application

• Owner must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident 

• Owner must not be a previous recipient of a Starter Company grant

Applications are evaluated based on: 

• An assessment of business viability 

• Potential for the business to benefit from existing ILEO partnerships

• Sales potential in the Greater Golden Mile as the area is redeveloped
